Acquisition Information

After the College of Racine declared bankruptcy, representatives of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin and the College of Racine negotiated disposition of the institution's records. F. Gerald Ham, state archivist, and Nicholas Burckel, director of archives at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, represented the Society, while Barry McCabe, vice-president for academic affairs and Grace Ziegenbein, registrar, represented the College. The parties agreed that student transcripts and supporting materials would be microfilmed and administered by the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and all other records of administrative, legal, or historical importance would be transferred to the State Historical Society of Wisconsin for deposit at Parkside's Area Research Center. Sidney Walesh, acting as financial administrator for the College of Racine, donated the records to the Society in May 1976. Accession Number: M76-352
