Abstract:
Papers of Edwin R. Shorey, a former chairman of the Department of Mining and Metallurgy of the University of Wisconsin in Madison, largely concerning his work as a consultant to various Wisconsin mining companies. For companies such as the Badger Zinc Co. of Dodgeville and the Coughlin Mining Co. of Shullsburg, there is correspondence, financial records, and blueprints. Additional correspondence concerns professional matters, state and national legislation related to mining, the careers of former students, and some departmental business.
