Abstract:

Record of daily proceedings before the court, containing a fuller text of the testimony than the “Minute Record” (Brown Series 26). Content varies but may include title of case, actions taken in court, and summary of trial proceedings. The latter includes lists of witnesses called, appearances and motions by attorneys, instructions to the jury, jury verdicts, and texts of judgments and sentences levied in criminal cases. Some minutes also include a record of the court calendar for the session, recesses, continuations, selections of jurors, declarations of intention to become a citizen, and memorial eulogies for judges and attorneys.
