Abstract:
Scrapbook of genealogical and biographical records pertaining to John Albred “Snowshoe” Thompson, compiled by Phyllis Johnson. Thompson was a Norwegion-born mail carrier who crossed the Sierra Nevadas between Placerville, California, and Genoa, Utah Territory (Nevada), on skis during the winter months from 1856 to 1876.
