Files relating to the Medical Geography Department, which produced maps
of diseases within regions, showing their relationship with geographical
factors. This department started out with a fluorine study conducted by
Anastasia Van Burkalow. Jacques May was hired in 1948 to head the
department and worked on the Atlas of
Disease and later The Ecology of
Human Disease, which were under government contracts. This
subseries contains correspondence, proposals, and reports on these
projects.
