Access Restrictions

There are no access restrictions on the materials, and the collection is open to all members of the public in accordance with state law. However, due to the fragile nature of the negatives, researchers must work with a staff member when handling these materials.

Use Restrictions

The copyright to the materials belongs to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The researcher assumes full responsibility for conforming with the laws of libel, privacy, and copyright which may be involved in the use of this collection (Wisconsin Statutes 19.21-19.39).

Acquisition Information

Mark Avery donated the collection to the Archives in April 1999 (accession 1998-052), with further donations in 2002 (accession 2002-028) and in 2004 (accession 2004-020). Mark Avery donated additional materials in June 2008 (accession 2008-002).

Processing Information

Anna Stadick processed the first series in February and March 2000 and that finding aid was completed by Lisa Jacobson and Amy Schindler in 2001. Additions to the collection were processed by Amanda Wynne (supervised by Ellen Engseth) in March 2008 and the finding aid was updated at that time. Christel Maass processed accession 2008-002 in May 2015 (box 19).
