Scope and Content Note: This series includes member and branch applications, records regarding the two separate formations of the “Debs’ Caucus”, membership handbooks, dues information, election and referendum votes by officers, and members on various issues. There are member/officer lists, mailing lists, directories and a large card membership/directory file. The card directory file system covers a few areas: Wisconsin county branch members, Milwaukee County branch members by suburban cities, or other demographics such as gender or ethnicity and then City of Milwaukee branch members organized by voting wards. There is also a card directory file that appears to have been originally organized by the member’s occupation, a listing of Milwaukee election workers and the Wisconsin “Socialist Reserves”. These cards are fire and water damaged presumably from the 1975 fire in the downtown Milwaukee building where the Socialist Party, USA, Socialist Party of Wisconsin and Socialist Party of Milwaukee shared an office.
