: The Financial / Business series consist almost entirely of records relating
to Hathaway’s work as a land agent. These are divided into two main areas:
general business, and tax records. The general business records contain
deeds for property Hathaway owned as a land agent, records relating to
various business expenses and materials relating to his work as a lawyer,
including copies of court cases and judgments. The tax records include
receipts and tax schedules for properties Hathaway owned.
