The Women in Geography Project consists of 59 taped interviews conducted by Dr.
Janice Monk, with women geographers across a broad spectrum of ages, academic
status, affiliations, and experiences. They represent a critical chronicle of the
significant and under-appreciated role of women in the development of academic
geography in the United States. Dr. Monk's publications based upon these interviews
provide historical and contextual dimensions to women's contributions to geographic
scholarship, and particularly to issues of respect and inclusion.
