Abstract: Papers of various members of the Curtis family of the Town of Lowville, Columbia County, Wisconsin. Included are papers of William Curtis, relating to his service as a Columbia County, Wisconsin, justice of the peace, including the case of Wisconsin vs. Levi L. Soles, who was charged with threatening Curtis' brother; of Charles Curtis, including diaries and letters (1861-1862) concerning his studies at the University of Wisconsin and his Civil War service in the 3rd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry; and of Isaac Curtis, including a record book (1849-1881) of the Lowville Baptist Church, with minutes and a listing of church members, and records of the Lowville Centre Debateing (sic) Society (1859) and Rocky Run Temperance Society (1878-1879).

Abstract: Family papers of Dr. G. Stanley Custer, a physician at the Marshfield Clinic and an avid amateur photographer. Included are an autobiography, diaries, recorded interviews with Dr. Custer, his wife Violet Custer, his brother Frank Custer, and other family members; correspondence; notes and other academic materials from Dr. Custer's education at the University of Wisconsin Medical School; papers relating to Dr. Custer's public life including his activities with choral music and the Presbyterian Church; financial records; histories of the Kohl/Krause and Ebert/Evert families; and photographs of family, high school reunions, medical conditions, and the 1989 dedication of the Marshfield City Hall. The collection also contains material relating to Violet Custer and her activities and has scattered references to Dr. Custer's brothers, Frank Custer, a long-time writer for the Capital Times, and Rudy Custer, who was an executive with the Chicago Bears football team.

Abstract: Correspondence and diaries of Cutting Marsh, a missionary to the Stockbridge Indians in Wisconsin. Also included are volumes in which Marsh jotted down memoranda on his reflections while a student, his missionary work at Maumee, Ohio, in the winter of 1829-1830, and his eighteen years among the Stockbridge people, with many comments on Indian life, vocabulary, and his own experiences. Diaries, 1830-1848, contain a narrative of his religious work at Statesburg and Stockbridge; and an expedition in the summer of 1834 to the Sauk and Fox Indians at Rock Island and up the Des Moines. Additional diaries, 1848-1856, concern his preaching career in the Wisconsin pineries, with headquarters at Waupaca.
