Abstract: A portfolio of 28 single sheet and eleven double sheet illustrations and plans, published for The Richards Company in original cover with interior text extolling “the virtues of these affordable homes.” The portfolio consists of perspective drawings and floor plans for several standardized models of the American System-Built house series.

Abstract: Janet Wright is a retired social worker who lives with her partner Lael Greenfield in Oregon, Wisconsin. She spent her career researching and advocating for LGBTQ families. These papers include her research and writing, letters to the editor, gay rights buttons, and a volume of The Feminist Teacher Anthology, which includes a chapter by Wright, and Queer Families, Queer Politics, which includes notes from Wright. The papers also include a framed watercolor painting of the Hotel Trumpf which was later called the Hotel Washington that came from Wright and Greenfield's home.

Abstract: The Lester James Wright collection (1908-1923) consists correspondence from Wright, photographs and postcards, certificates, and travel documents. Wright was a former agriculture professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before he became a missionary of the Presbyterian Church. After becoming ordained, Wright began his missionary work in Armenia and Turkey in 1921, focusing on agriculture in Harpoot as well as orphaned children who lived in the area. He made several trips moving hundreds of children to Aleppo to take refuge. He was killed during one of these trips by bandits in 1922.

Included are correspondence; notes, briefs, and other legal documents concerning anti-trust litigation, distribution agreements, loans, and contracts with company officers and producers such as Charles Chaplin, Samuel Goldwyn, Hal Roach, Arthur B. Krim, Alexander Korda, Mary Pickford, Joseph Schenck, David O. Selznick, Hunt Stromberg, Walter Wanger, and others; and reference files of United Artists reports on finances and overseas operations and on the legal and foreign operations of the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors Association.

Abstract: This collection consists of photographs, sheet music, correspondence, sketches, scripts, notes, programs and miscellaneous materials collected by Jane Wright-Porter related to festivals and pageants she produced in Wisconsin. Wright-Porter staged pageants focused on Wisconsin history starring local children. The bulk of pageant materials focus on the Tower Hill Folk Festival held at Tower Hill State Park in Spring Green, Wisconsin on August 21-22, 1937 and August 13-14, 1938.

Abstract: Records of the Board of Supervisors, 1860-1993; Clerk, 1869-1964; Treasurer, 1851-1982; Justice of the Peace, 1890-1907; and Board of Health, 1878-1929. The most comprehensive documentation of the town government is found in the proceedings of the Board of Supervisors and in greater detail in the Clerk's record books, 1869-1964. Other records include election records (1868-1915), highway records (1852-1953), Treasurer's records (1851-1982), Justice of the Peace dockets from the town and the village of Greenleaf (1890-1907), and Board of Health records (1878-1929). The dockets include records of a few marriages and also some births. Also present is an agreement to form the Wrightstown Farmers Mutual Insurance Company.

Abstract: Records of The Writers Place (TWP), a non-profit corporation dedicated to the proliferation of Madison, Wisconsin’s literary community, founded by Burt and Dale Kushner in the early 1980s. The paper records are scant and consist of correspondence, news clippings, and copies of some of their newsletters. The Writers Place hosted readings and open microphone programs which were recorded and the bulk of the collection consists of these recordings (audio cassette tapes). In addition to these programs, The Writers Place offered classes in prose and poetry. Many of the recordings were first broadcast on WORT community radio or Wisconsin Public Radio. They are generally organized by author or participant with the exception of the open microphone programs which are arranged thematically.

Abstract: Writings and research produced by the Wisconsin division of the Federal Writers' Project (1935-1942), which was designed to provide jobs for unemployed professional and white-collar workers. The collection consists of biographies of famous Wisconsinites; tour guides and histories of Madison, Milwaukee, Mineral Point and Wausau; radio scripts of dramatized biographies and dramatized recollections of pioneer days; and other writings.

Included are studies and tour outlines, a paper on Menominee Indian lore, and administrative correspondence revealing difficulties the project faced on the state and regional levels.
