Series: Relief work.
Scope and Content Note: The published materials for relief efforts during World War I are collected here in a group of [?] pamphlets, handbooks and broadsides. These pamphlets were published and distributed by a variety of institutions, including charitable organizations, Christian groups and newspapers. Heavy coverage is afforded the Armenian or "Near East" refugee crisis, as well as the situation with Jewish and Belgian refugees. The Fatherless Children of France, a Wisconsin charity group, is represented here with more than forty documents. In addition, issues in relief work in Poland and Serbia are also well documented. Publications of the American Relief Administration and the American McAll Association are included in this group. There is also a group of materials from the American Friends Service Committee, a Quaker organization. The materials in this category are primarily American, English and French.
