	Subseries: a. Subject Files, 1983-2006 Scope and Content Note: Administrative and program records generated by IUHP's main off campus center, the Silver Spring Community Nursing Center (SSCNC). SSCNC, housed in the Silver Spring Community Center and run by UWM College of Nursing faculty, staff, and students, offered clinical and mental health services, as well as family counseling and support programs to Milwaukee's inner city residents. Many of the records in the subseries are related to the Supporting First Time Parents Program, which attempted to provide constructive advice and tools to parents. Also included in the series are records related to the Rising Star program, which aimed to empower girls and prevent sexual assault and abuse. A small number of photographs of SSCNC staff, patients, and events are also included.

	Subseries: b. Family Resource Center Records, 1988-2007 Scope and Content Note: Records of the Silver Spring Community Nursing Center's Family Resource Center, a major grant-funded project sponsored by the Children's Trust Fund. The project's main goals were to provide referral sources, recreational activities, and parenting education and nursing services to families. Much of this subseries is devoted to administrative materials for the Family Resource Center Grant, including funding proposals, grant applications and contracts, and quarterly and annual reports. Of particular interest in this series is several folders of anonymized qualitative data, found under Positive Parenting Program "Evaluation" folders, in which participants in FRC programs describe their family-related problems and how they have adapted (or failed to adapt) the center's tools and advice into their routines.	⇧
