: Records, 1989-1999, for several court cases concerning Wisconsin utilities considered
to be landmark decisions because of their rulings on the authority of the Public Service
Commission (PSC). Of more general interest is a case successfully brought by Wisconsin
Power and Light against the PSC after the commission ordered a lump sum penalty paid to
ratepayers because of imprudent management. One commission case, 98-CV-682, apparently
not appealed to court, concerns a dispute between the Eau Claire Electric Cooperative
and Northern States Power Company concerning extension of lines.
