M96-084
Part 5 (M96-084): Additions, 1983-1992
Physical Description: 7.4 cubic feet (7 record center cartons and 1 archives box)
Scope and Content Note: Additions, 1983-1992, from INFACT's Boston office, documenting the change in focus from infant formula to anti-nuclear weapons work, and the organizing of the boycott of General Electric (GE). Two segments of the GE-focused campaign are particularly well-documented: organizing people to put pressure on retail chains, mainly Target, to carry alternatives to GE products, and arranging to buy stock in GE so as to have influence on the company. Included are minutes of board meetings, memoranda, flyers, budget materials, planning documents, research files, correspondence with community organizers, policy memoranda, national campaign director's files, files concerning the book INFACT Brings General Electric to Light, and staff meeting notes.
