The American Indian Theatre Ensemble (AITE) on tour at Rough Rock Demonstration School in Chinle, Arizona, in 1973. Rough footage from the tour was edited to create this video, which opens with a handwritten title reading “La MaMa presents the American Indian Theatre Ensemble at Rough Rock Demonstration School” and closes with “this videotape was produced under the auspices of the N.I.E.A. [National Indian Education Association] Library Project.” The video consists primarily of an interview, edited with B-roll of the ensemble rehearsing and an audience gathering before a production.
