Scope and Content Note

The majority of the records fall into three series: History, Secretary’s Record, and Registrar. History contains a record of area Junior and Senior High School Students who have achieved academic excellence, participated in community service, and demonstrated patriotism. It also includes a record of the Kenosha Chapter’s service and dedication to the community. The Secretary’s Record is a history of Chapter meetings and activities from the group's founding in 1896 to the present. Registrar contains membership applications to the national society dating back to 1896. Those files are listed as restricted. In addition to the three major series the collection includes material from the State and National Societies and reveals the importance of patriotism and education to the Society as well as its dedication to preserving the past. There are also lists and correspondence containing biographical information of Revolution Era Veterans and cemetery records.
