Boolean Search

-- Use an * to truncate (e.g. govern*= govern, government, governor, etc.)

-- To search within an individual finding aid, open the "full text" view, then press the "Control" key and the letter "f" to open a search box. This is particularly useful to readers coming to a finding aid from a catalog entry's link.

-- When viewing individual finding aids from a search results list, use your browser's "Back" button to return to the list rather than clicking on "Return to Search Results."

-- Click on "Help" above for information on the search options' definitions and on viewing, navigating, and printing search results.


If you are searching for three terms, for example Colchis and either Jason or Medea, you need to enter the combined terms (Jason and Medea) in the first two boxes. Similarly, if you are searching for parents or mother and father, enter mother and father first.

Restricted searches will not generate results faster than searches of the entire collection.
