Records of the Gilman Relief Workers, a women's charitable organization based in Spring Valley (Wis.), consisting of minute books documenting the group's membership and activities, and a scrapbook containing notes of thanks from beneficiaries of the group's work.
Collection Scope and Content NoteThe Gilman Relief Workers' main activities included sending fruit baskets to the elderly and the sick, sending sympathy cards, sending cards to local persons serving in the Armed Forced, as well as donating to charities such as the Red Cross. Included in the collection are minute books, some loose correspondence, and a scrapbook. The minute books consist of membership lists, a record of activities, and a running tally of the group's expenses and revenues. The scrapbook consists entirely of cards, notes, and an occasional v-mail from beneficiaries of the group's work. Contents List
