Biography/HistoryIn July, 1900, the women of River Falls gathered in a mass meeting and decided to form a permanent organization to promote village improvement. Their program included a fight against weeds and waste paper, repair of sidewalks, transformation of dumping places into parks, and replacement of old wooden drinking troughs for horses by neat iron ones. During the first twelve years of its existence the League disbursed over 2000 dollars. Later projects included a public rest room for women; its opening in February, 1913, was a social event at which 21 persons were entertained. Administrative/Restriction Information
