Well on March 3, 1902, Rev. Otto E. Schmidt called a meeting and
invited Dr. Flett. He accepted it graciously and he invited him
and about six to eight more men of the local community to come to
a meeting at the Jacobson School.
The Jacobson school was called that because Edward Jacobson owned
that land and I knew Mr. Jacobson very well. That school was
worthy, Colonel Heg Monument now stands there. That school was
removed to make room for Colonel Heg monument.
So that meeting was held there. We are going to give you those
meetings now, verbatim as they were because we have the original
books. They kept a good book in those days and they have good
minutes, good records. We are going to give everything to you
verbatim where it is absolutely necessary to follow everything that
they did. There are times where we are going to have to eliminate
it because it is going to require too much to get all of that
established. If it is just a meeting between the board of
directors, we might just skip it.
We are going to bring up the essential things, the price of
material, the people there that it involved and the contacts they
made. We are going to start with the first one here from March 3,
1902.
Melvin J. Johnson
