   On February 2, 1960, the Governor appointed this committee to
 advise him in "planning a full-scale attack upon Wisconsin's num-
 ber one problem - persistently low farmers' income." The com-
 mittee consists of outstanding Wisconsin farm leaders.

    In November, 1959, this committee was established to provide an
orderly method to review proposals for amendments or further im-
provements in regard to the Family Code and to make recommenda-
tions to the Legislature.
               Fire Hazards in State Institutions,
                 Interdepartmental Committee on

    On March 6, 1960, the Governor created this committee for the
purpose of eliminating fire hazards and building deficiencies in
public and institutional properties in the state. The function of the
committee is to review existing rules and regulations and to make
recommendations for additional safeguards for institutions. Recom-
mendations apply to state, county, and municipal properties; and
also to private institutions such as nursing homes, educational
institutions, and hospitals.
  State departments represented on the committee are as follows:
Administration, Board of Health, Industrial Commission, Insurance,
Public Instruction, Public Welfare, State Colleges, the University
of Wisconsin, and Vocational and Adult Education.
