To All County Agents and Farm Labor Assistants:
          Passed First Labor Peak
     The state has successfully passed. the first
labor peak.
     The nea harvest has just been corm'nleted.
     Hayin- is done or well under way in most
parts of the state.
     Grain is ripe in the southern and eastern
counties. IMuch of it has been combined and more is cut and shocked, writing
to be threshed.
     The cherry harvest is in full swimn,- and the largest crop in the history
of Door county is being nicked, processed, sold and. shipr.ed Just as fast
as available plant facilities cein hundle the fruit.
     3eans will be ready for nickin- about august 5th end the harvcstiw of
sweet corn which will usher in the next big rrsh is due to be-in --bout the
15th of August.
                               FORBIGIN LABOR
    D APIDLY changing conditions durinf; the spring and simmer of 1946, brought
    \ many chang-es in the schedule of 'tssiL'nn.nts for foreign labor. A
survey
made earll in MInrch by L. G. Sorden and Erver Lon-, showed theat fruit and
vegetable
canners and growers requested between 4,000 anC. 5,000 foreign workers.
