The Emerald: the Waterford Union High School annual
(May, 1972)

Faculty and academics,   pp. [6]-[7]-22

Page 12

Thousands of years have elapsed since
man began recording his first scientific
observations. Since then, his knowledge
has taken him from the simple chore of
building a fire to the complex task of un-
raveling the structure of the atom.
The Science Department of WHS an-
swers the student's need for organization
in this seemingly incoherent mass of data
--to read, to understand, to apply.
Whether the individual chooses to take
only two, or all seven of the courses of-
fered, he is bound to become aware of
the essential unity and beauty of science
as well as the harmony of the world
around him.
