The jurisdiction of the county court is now established by general statute and is uniform throughout the state. All special laws con- ferring special jurisdiction upon the various county courts are repealed. Civil jurisdiction of the county court is set out in detail in Section 253.11, Wisconsin Statutes. In general, civil jurisdiction is concurrent with that of the circuit court up to a $25,000 limit. Criminal jurisdiction of the county court is concurrent with the circuit court except for treason and except for the 10 branches of the Milwaukee County court where some of the branches are designated to specialize in certain types of actions. The county court has exclusive jurisdiction in probate matters, most juvenile matters, children's and adult adoptions, and abandon- ment under Section 52.03, Wis. Stats.
