The transcriptions of a diary and letters to family in Green County, Wis. written by Private Ault, November 1864-October 1865, while serving in the 14th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment, Company D, primarily in Alabama; expressing his faith in God and affection for family, and criticism of the army into which he was drafted unwillingly. The transcriptions are title "Two Unwilling Soldiers" and were complied by Raymond Buker in 1980. Additional materials from this collection are available in original form at the Wisconsin Historical Society.
