YOUNG CHURCH PEOPLE
There was always Sunday school for all ages in Waukau Methodist Church.
Epworth League until it died out in 1915 drew teenagers to social events
and to do church work. Its demise was said to be lack of new recruits to
replace the original aging teens.
About 1930 Mrs. Louise Alger organized the Waukau young people into the Fidelis
Class. Barbara Grueb Jannusch was the first president and Richard Holmes
was vice president. They conducted the first sunrise Easter services. In
1951 the class was renemed the Methodist Youth Fellowship.
In April of 1982 the young people of the Waukau-Eureka circuit organized
the Youth Action group.
Young people have always been the mainstay of the choir and young girls are
always willing recruits at church suppers to wait on table.
The new electric organ in 1952 drew several young people to the role of organist.
Among these were Loretta Bohn, Joan Knapwurst, and Cheri and Adair Harrison.
In 1986 Miss Michelle Paulson began assisting on the Baldwin.
