     There is a good farming community about Dorchester.

     The first number of the CLARION was struck off July 16, 1899, by R.
Prosser and R. Taylor. Shortly after its establishment the weekly was moved
to Abbotsford.  M.'Jany editors have seen service on this paper, including
Fred A. Pier, Herman Kronschnable, and WInm. Mannes. At oae time it was
abandoned but in 1919 it was taken over by the present editor, R. ,;.
Hugoboom and moved back to Dorchester.

     Several large Holstein breeding establishments claim Dousman as their
headquarters. Dairying, of course, leads as the community's chief asset.
Grain, hay and hogs are exported in large quantities. Strawberries and
Larden crops are shippod to the Milwaukec markets.   D'usmain is the home
of
the Wisconsin Home and Farm schools and the Viisconsin Masonic Home.
