     Located in a hardwood timber district, this Forest county town has two
companies that manufacture products from the local wood. One of these, thie
Vulcan Last Company, has the largest plant of its kind in -the United States;
it makes shoe lasts and employs 125 men.   Its plant is Ioeing enlarged and
in the future its force will be doubled. The other large company manufactures
excelsior. There are four beautiful lakes in the city limits. . state game
refuge is nearby with good hunting and fishing in the locality.

Dorchester, Wisconsin, the past nine years.    Previous to tnat he owVned
the
paper at Abbotsford and Dorchester,
