Merrill, was a candidate for the republican
nomination for state senator to succeed
D. E. Riordan. He was defeated by Mayor
Wright of Merrill.
  Eugene L. Gilmore, 'ool, has made the
rather unusual professional combination of
law and medicine. He is a -graduate of
one of the Chicago medical colleges and is
practicing in Chicago.
  Born, September i4th to Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Parsons, a son. Mr. Parsons is an
engineering graduate of the class of 19oo
and is superintendent of erection for the
Milwaukee Bridge Company at Pittsburg,
Pa.
  Harvey, R. Holmes, 'oo, who last year,
was director of athletics at the University
of Utah, holds a similar position in the
University of California at Berkeley. Mr.
Holmes played tackle at Wisconsin in '97
and '98, was a fine gymnast and the best
heavy weight wrestler who ever attended
the University.
  Louis E. Moore, 'oo, is instructor in ap-
plied mechanics in the University of Illi-
nois. Mr. Moore held a similar position
at the University of Wisconsin last year.
On September 2nd, a daughter was born
to Mr. and Mrs. Moore.
  Miss Susan Klinkhammer, '00, is assist-
ant in the Florence high school.
  Miss Miriam K. Reed, 'oo, teaches Latin
and German in the high school at Two
Rivers.
  Miss Josephine Bowden, 'oo, is teacher
of history in the Richland Center high
school.
  William H. Pearson, 'oo, has a clerkship
in the post office department at Washing-
ton.
  Dr. George Scheer, 'oo, is. practicing
medicine in Sheboygan.

  Lynn H. Tracy, president, Monroe St.
Office, N. Y. Life Ins. Co., Chicago.
  Miss Clara L. Stillman, secretary, 222
Mason St., Milwaukee, Wis.
  Harry E. Bradley, '0I, '04l, has opened
offices in the Loan and Trust Building,
and will practice law in Milwaukee. Mr.
Bradley was a fine gymnast and all-round
athlete during his university course and
was a Phi Beta Kappa man.
  Miss Leeta Harvey, 'or, of Menomonie,
visited Miss Stevens of Madison during
the summer.
  Joseph Dean, '97-'98, who played end on
the Wisconsin varsity in '97, when Wis-
consin won the western championship, has
opened offices in the Wisconsin block,
Madison, for the practice of medicine. Dr.
Dean graduated from the College of Phys-
icians ahd Surgeons in fo2, and has since
been house surgeon in the Cook County
hospital.
  Miss Julia F. Smith and Miss Leta Sher.
man, both of 'oI, are in Europe with Prof.
Charles Forster Smith, their plans provid-
ing for a six months' stay, chiefly on the
continent.
  P. A. Kolb, 'oi, and Miss Louise Paul-
ine Schumann were married October 4th
at the residence of the bride's parents in
Prairie du Chien. Mr. Kolb is principal-
of the Prairie du Chien high school.
  Eugene Hancock, 'oi, who since his
  graduation has done advanced work in
geology at the University, will be assist-
ant professor in that department of the
Michigan Mining College at IHoughton,
Mich., this year. Mrs. Hancock spent the
summer in    Minneapolis. In  September
Mr. and Mrs. Hancock moved to Hough-
ton
  Miss Winifred Salisbury, 'or, has te-
signed her position in Alma College, Mich-
igan, and will spend the year at her home
in Oregon, Wis.
  Mr. Zach A. Chandler. 'or, has returned
  for his third year's work as Master of
English in the Howe Military Academy at
Lima, Indiana.
  Married-C. R. Rounds, 'or, of White-
water, Wis., to Miss Mabel Willis, daugh,
ter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Willis of Craw-.
fordsville, Ind., June 29, I9O4. Address
Whitewater, where Mr. Rounds is profes-
sor of English in the normal school.
  Mrs. Annie Caulkins Fish, '01, is living
  in Columbus, 0., where Prof. Fish, is as-
  sistant professor of electrical engineering.
  Miss Clara L. Stillman, 'oi, who is sec-
  retary of her class, is at home in Milwau-
kee, her address being 222 Mason St.
  Paul W. Boehm, 'o0, was in attendance
,at the summer session of the University of
Michigan Law School and will graduate
