REJUVENATED Wisconsin Foot-
ball team, inspired by the ster-X
      ling performance of untested\
Sidney Williams at quarterback, over-
came several disappointments to tie
Illinois, 13-13, this cold November
afternoon in Memorial Stadium at
Champaign, Ill., before 52,858 fans.
The story of the outcome must neces-
sarily be a story about Sidney Williams
-Coach Milt Bruhn's fifth nomination
of the season to fill the vital quarterback
position. Williams had performed there
on defense throughout the first seven
games, and had even directed the Wis-
consin offense for 11 plays against Ohio
LONG GAINER-This pass to Dave
Howard, one of the finest Badger
ends, ever, garnered 48 yards against
Minnesota and set up the first Wis-
consin touchdown. (All photos cour-
tesy of the Wisconsin State Journal.)
