A Badger Meets an Old Friend
DAVID GOLDING,- '35, press representative for Samuel Goldwyn, renewed an
association in. London recently with Gen. Mark W. Clark, American military
ernor for Austria, at a private screening of Thie.Best Years of Our Lives

Golding, who comes from Brooklyn, N. Y., was a master sergeant and managing
editor of Stars and Stripes in the Mediterranean, he covered General Clark
the landing of the Fifth Army at Salerno and was with him until the end of

Milwaukee, was married in December to
Robert E. GORMAN, '41, Waukesha. They

kee . . . Dr. Mary Ann PAYNE, Braddock
Heights, Md., is an assistant resident in
medicine at the New York Hospital. The
American   College of Physicians   have
awarded her a research fellowship in med-
icine for 1947-48. She will study the
hepato-renal factors in regard to shock and
hypertension . . . Mr. and Mrs. Robert
STERN (Joy SHIMON, '44), Hartland, an-
nounce the birth of a son, Dennis Lane, on
Dec. 24. They have another son, Gary.

ELY), formerly of Madison, announce the
birth of a son, David Rodney, born August
21 at Norfolk, Va. ... "The Rev. Malcolm
P. BRUNNER is the new pastor of the
Church of the Ascension, Merrill, and St.
Barnabas Episcopal Church, Tomahawk.
He was formerly a curate at St. Matthew's
Church, Kenosha. He and his wife, the
former Phyllis GERLING, '42, live at 505%
Genesee St., Merrill . . . Mr. and Mrs. Ken-
neth E. BIXBY, Cleveland, 0., are the
parents of a son, Kenneth William, born
March 22.

  Stanley W. RICKSECKER and Mary
McCarville, both of Beloit, were married
Feb. 12. They will reside at 115½ Prairie
Ave., Beloit, where Mr. Ricksecker is em-
ployed by the Beloit Savings Bank...
Donald C. ROBINSON, Montello, will ac-
cept a post as director of a Brazilian
library of American classics and phono-
graph records and as a teacher of English
at Fortalezo, near Rio de Janeiro. He had
served in the Pacific theater with a marine
amphibious tank outfit and after the war
as naval attache at Bahia, Brazil...
Alfred GRANUM, Amery, joined his father
as co-partner in the Granum Agency on
Mar. 1, the 25th anniversary of their in-
surance business. Mr. Granum served on
the battleship Nevada and received five
battle 'stars . . . Mr. and Mrs. William H.
LOHR (Genie STUESSER), Chicago, an-
nounce the arrival of a daughter, Kathleen
Ellen, on Feb. 17. They also have a son,
John. Mr. Lohr is a senior in the North-
western University medical school . . . Dr.
Burton LYNCH, Jr., Monroe, has opened
an office at Wausau for the practice of
general dentistry. His wife is the former
DeLores GUNDERSON, '47 . . . Joseph A.
LAWRENCE and Cynthia HOOD, '48, both
of Racine, were married Mar. 8. They are

Racine. Mr. Lawrence is associated with
Joseph A. Lawrence, Inc. . , . Ray R.
STEWART and Dorothy Swancutt, both of
Milwaukee, were married Mar. 22. They
are making their home in Milwaukee ...
Margaret HENNEY, Madison, has accepted
a position as assistant dietitian at the
Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa. She
had been with the army medical corps until
her discharge last November . . . Henry J.
COOK is now employed by the Olson Phar-
macy in Waupaca as pharmacist. He and
his wife, Dorothy ALLEN, and daughter,
Carol, will live at 511% Center St., Wau-
paca o o . Mrs. Robert H. MAAS (Else
Daniels), is now    associated with the
Kansas City branch office of the New York
Life Insurance Co., as an underwriter.

  Lt. and Mrs. James H. Hill,(Joan HART-
WELL),, Alexandria, Va., announce the birth
of a daughter, Jennifer, on Jan. 27. As Lt.
Hill will leave shortly for a tour of duty
in Japan, Mrs. Hill and family will return
to her home at Littleton, Mass .... John
W. PARKER, Madison, and Mrs. Celia
Roberts Dean, Wauwatosa, were married,
Mar. 12 in Kronberg Castle on the Rhine
near Frankfurt, Germany. Mr. Parker is
now employed with the state department
diplomatic service  in* Paris and -Mrs,.
Parker was an army nurse . . . Arlene
BAHR,ý Baraboo, was married Mar. 15 to
Harold J. Vokoun, Cleveland Heights, O.,
in the John Timothy Stone Chapel of the
Fourth Presbyterian Church, Chicago. They
will be at home at 1 Headlands Blvd.,
Mentor Headlands, Painesville, 0. Mrs.
Vokoun has been industrial program di-
rector of the Chicago YWCA for the past
two years . . . Frank W. KELLER has
been named superintendent of schools at
Sturgeon Bay. He was director of voca-
tional education there since July, 1944. He
had also been principal of the West Lima
Consolidated School in Richland County
. . . Betty JOHNSON, Oregon, is super-
vising technologist at St. Mary's :Hospital,
Milwaukee . . . Lt.(jg) Clifford S. TOM-
LINSON, formerly of Milwaukee, was mar-
ried recently in Miami, Fla. to Mrs. Berenis
F. Bangs. They will reside in Key West,
Fla., where Lt. Tomlinson is stationed . . .
Gilbert H. GROSENICK, principal of the
high school at Mishicot has been appointed
superintendent of schools at Horicon
S/Sgt. Hugo R. ZIMMER, son of Mrs. Hugo
Zimmer,. 1140 So. 79th St., West Allis, was
killed at Altweid, Germany, Mar. 23, 1945.
He entered service as a private in the 28th
Infantry Division and was transferred to
the 38th Infantry Regiment of the 2nd
Division of the 1st army and was sent
overseas on D day plus 1. He was wounded
by a sniper at Vice on August 13, 1944 ...
Edwin H. HEIM and Virginia Gonnering,
both -of West Bend, were married Mar. 3
in the Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed
Church of West Bend. A World War II
veteran, Mr. Heim is engaged in landscape
work at Brown Deer and he and his bride
will live at the Plaza Hotel, Milwaukee ,..
Ensign Waldemar A. KULCZYCKI, son of
Mr. and Mrs. W. Kulczycki, Sr., 4925 S.
Lake Drive, Cudahy, who was listed as
missing in action on the U. S. submarine
BULLHEAD, July, 1945 has been declared
dead on August 23, 1946 in the Java Sea
area. Ens. Kulczycki entered active service
in July, 1943 and received his commission
at Columbia University Midshipman School
in June, 1944. He received his preliminary
training in submarines at the US Sub Base
in Bermuda. He has been awarded the
combat submarine insignia and the Purple
Heart and the World War II Victory Medal
... Mr. and Mrs. George J. HATCHELL,
Jr., Madison, announce the birth of a son
on March 14. Mr. Hatchell is a native of
Kaukauna . . . Betty L. DELENE, She-
boygan, is an occupational therapist at the
Veteran's Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa. She
had been located in Los Angeles, Calif.
