MICHAEL SMREKAR 
1985 season . . . saw action in final 
seven games of 1984... emerged as a 
top candidate at tight end in the pre- 
season but was injured and missed 
the first five games ... had two recep- 
tions for 59 yards, both for key plays in 
the Badgers' 4-0-1 finish.., had a 13- 
yard first down grab vs. Iowa and a 46- 
yard first down catch against MSU in 
the second half.., caught five passes 
for 70 yards, including 33-yarder for 
TD in '85 spring game . . . named 
"Most Improved" junior on offense in 
'85 spring drills . . . played in five 
games in 1983, including wins over 
Northwestern, Indiana and Michigan 
State... was a walk-on offensive line- 
man in 1982 and played against North- 
western . .. also saw action with the 
varsity reserves in '82... two-time let- 
terwinner in both football and baseball 
in high school ... All-Fox Valley Asso- 
ciation choice in both sports his senior 
year.. . prep coach was Jim Scandin 
... hopes to become a lawyer.. . ma- 
joring in Economics ...
