FACULTY
                              Te faculty at the
University of Wisconsin has traditionally played a
major role in the governance of the University. By
state statute (36.12) it is entrusted with the imme-

in two bodies. The University Faculty Assembly is
an elected body of seventy-six members, including
representatives from every unit of the University. A

The faculty government has a special interest in
such matters as educational policies; requirements
