Xr. M. X. Hobbs,
Alumni Secretary, Pro. Tern.
Dear Hobbss
Now that the concrete mixers are rattling
on the Union site, and the foundations have reached the first
floor, it is easy to talk about the Memorial Union.....especi-
ally to alumni who saw at Coumnoement the progress which is
already made.
I want to tell you---and our alumni ---about
the campaign manager' s dream of heavens. It is -the day when
evry subscriber takes the notion.- and acts on it, to send in
a small cheok on his pledge,--say, $10. Think wbat it will
mean from 5100 alunni subscribers!
$51,0001 Let me write it out! Fifty one
thousand dollars'I
                  This is &ten dollar month.
                  We're suggesting-as a sporting proposition
to every alumni pledger that he send in $10 regardless of
what he owes. We're. suggesting it because most subscribers
don't realize how important it is for everyone to send a
small part of his pledge rlaIZ3.I
                  This is tremendously important..**.now that
the building is under way, and every dollar pledged is needed
to erect and furnish it.
Will you get this message -aorss j]_,.
and ask almnni to re92v by check'
P.S. If every subscriber could watch the site for himself,
and see what's going on, his check would not be long in comingI
