According to National Planning Data Oorporation, the proportion of
elderly in the City of Racine is expected to increase fran 12 percent
in 1980 to 14.5 percent in 1992. This increase is not due to a
dramatic increase in the number of persons 65 years and older, but
instead due to a projected decrease in the total population of the
City of Racine from 85,725 persons of all ages in 1980 to 76,550 in
1992. The net increase in the 65 years and older population fram
1980 to 1992 is projected to be 466 persons with sane decreases
anticipated in the 65 to 74 year age group between 1987 and 1992.
