Eclipse If some morning, a crack opens in the sun, don't look up to guess how much light we've lost already. And don't try to make small talk, as usual; your words will come out too honest on street corners like dim confessionals. If you must speak to your neighbors, whisper, "Watch your step," and keep moving-cautiously. Shadows can be dangerous, hiding those dry, abandoned wells of old wrongs anyone could fall into and be trapped. But don't panic.... Remember this: There has always been enough light to last until dark. So far. 34
