The present novel is the first work of Hagar Olsson to be translated into English. Two of her novels, however, have appeared in German, Det blåser upp till storm (Sturm bricht an, Munich, 1931), and Träsnidaren och döden (Wie schön ist dein Gesicht, Vienna and Stuttgart, 1957).
