and individual, and the payment of various expenses inefirred in connection
with the work of the Department in the Indian Territory. This report will
show a total of $1,239,626.74 collected and $1,992,410.50 disbursed during
the 
year, and counting moneys received for disbursement shows a grand total 
handled of $3,270,717.65. 
Clerical force and mail.-The rveords show that about ninety persons were
employed at the agency proper (not including the Indian inspector's force,
field 
men, or Indian police) during the Irast twelve months. 
The following statistics with reference to correspondence will give an intelli-
gent idea as to the volume of business transacted and the increase thereof:
