Ratified treaty no. 169, documents relating to the negotiation of the treaty of September 15, 1832, with the Winnebago Indians
Washington, D.C.: National Archives, September 15, 1832

1. Gen. W. Scott and Gov. John Reynolds, Comrs., to Sec. of War, Sept. 16, 1832, forwarding treaty. (1 p.)*

2. Comrs. to Sec. of War, Sept. 22, 1832, reporting on this treaty and the treaty with the Sauk and Fox of Sept. 21, 1832. Enclosed is copy of letter of same date addressed to Wm. Clark by comrs. (4 p., 2 p.)*

3. Capt. R. Bache, Sec., to Sec. of War, Oct. 13, 1832, presenting "minutes of conference held with Winnebagos and Sac and Fox," together with other documents. (1 p.)*

4. Reynolds, Comr., to Sec. of War, Oct. 26, 1832, reporting further on the two treaties. (OIA, LR, Prairie du Chien, 1832)

Note: Instructions not found. From a penciled notation on the back of the letter of Oct. 13, 1832 (item 3 above), it appears that the "minutes" and other enclosures may have been forwarded to the Senate in Dec. 1832, when the two treaties were submitted.
