'Tis found in divers Padts of the Paft Indies, but thofe
of the flhand of Ceylon are the hloff prized.
Hares-Eyn, Ocuius Leprinus, in Medicine, a Difeafe
arifing from a Contraafion of the upper Eye-lid, which
prevents its being able to cover its Part of the Eye. Whence
the Patient is obliged to Sleep with the Eye half open after
the Manner of Hares.
The Phyficians call it ZLa tohalmia, a Greek Word
fignifying the fame Thing, being compounded of Awqvr;
Hare, and k)t, Eye.
Goats-EYE, Oculus Caprinus, is when there is a white

EZRA, or ESDRAS, inDivinity.-The Books otErw
art two Books of HolyScuipture, compofed by Era, or
AuVras, the High-Priefl of the gews during the Captivity;*
and particularly about the Time when they return'd to
2Pgalefine, under the Reign of Cyrus.
The Original of the Books of Efdras is in Hebrew; and
the fecond is particularly call'd by the Hebrews, and firo
them by the Englijb Tranflators, Nehemiah.
They contain the Hiflory of the Return 'of that peopl
from the !Babylonxih Captivity, and their Re-effablilhmnt in
the Holy Land. They are Canonical,> and are allowl as
fuch both by the Church and the Synagogue.
The Canon of Ezra, is the Collefion of the Books 0d
Scripture made by that Pontifi See CANON.
It appears, however, that the Synagogue added other Boo
