Some take eg-flhells walht, and dried, and
bruize them to a fine powder, and in each
ounce put three cara6ts of Civet; a carad
weighs four grains ; or they take two ounce
weight of prepared eg-fliells , infufing them
in Rofe warer, musked ten, or twelve dayes,
they dry, crumble, fears theem, put an ounce of
refined fugar to them, then put embers into a
brafre mortor, till it be fo hote, as you can en-

the peflle end annointed, the fpace of an houre,
then keep it in glaffe clofe Ihut, and fprinkle
the pouder on whitened Iheets, lhirts, and other
garments.
Some take the befl ordinary fope, fliceit

bruize, farfe it, then add Civet-pouder, and
ball it with Rofe-water.
Of Civet alfo are made oyls, oiatments, and
perfumes.
