2.. Melt butter, add flour and blend
to a smooth paste.
3. Gradually add milk, stirring con-
stantly; cook till thick and smooth.
4. Add seasonings.

6. Separate shortcakes, put creamed
mixture between lavers and on top.

veet biscuit short-  Straw berries, I a
cake, I recipe       quarts
Cream, 1, pint
Prepare sweet biscuit shortcakes;
cut biscuits with round fluted cutter
using three different sizes; put 3 to-
gether pyramid fashion, brush with
melted butter; bake as directed.
2.. Crush half of the berries, add sugar
to taste; split remaining berries in
halves, reserving six whole ones.
3. Whip cream.
4. Between tiers of each shortcake put
crushed berries and whipped cream;
around edge, berry halves. Top with
whipped cream and whole berry.
