A CAMERAWOMAN TAKES BRIGHT NEW FASHION PICTURES
N three short years. a relative newcomer--and a glamour
girl at that-has added freshness and impact to the some-
what enervated field of fashion photography. With her
reliable Rolleiflex, high-key technique and feminine eye for
arrangement, Christa of Hollywood, shooting starlets in strik-
ing costumes, has made her brilliant mark.
A German emigre. who came to the U.S. just before the
war. this petite becoming brunette I she adopted the trade name
"Christa" in 1948) is the only American photographer whose
work appears simultaneously in chichi fashion magazines and
middlebrow periodicals for average readers. In addition. she
photographs screen stars, for special studio promotions and
creates advertising illustrations for smart dress designers.
Today Christa's handsome indoor-outdoor studio is a brisk.
