Forest Service, government, career, opinion, environmentalists, Spotted Owl, embarrassment
00:23:13
Well maybe we could move on a little bit. How did you feel working for an agency that was part of the Forest Service or part of the federal government?
Yeah, I was very neutral about that I think until the issue of the environmentalists against the Forest Service when the spotted owl issue came up and then cutting down some virgin forests in Alaska initially and other places certainly gave the Forest Service a black eye. And so that was a little embarrassing to be part of that organization but I think---well I don't. Different administrations deal with some of these problems differently, and so depending on who is in charge [in Washington alters policy].
