Ces especes d'6difices sont tris en usage chez les
Anglois -et les Allemands. Celle-ci est 6tablie sur
tune colline, dans le jardin, servant d'observatoire.
Les chasseurs viennent s'y appeler matin et soir,
*u bruit du cor-de-chasse, et y font souvent enten-
dre de tres - agreables concerts. Son architecture est
'a la fois simple et elegante, sans profusion de ri-
ehesses; les galeries qui regnent a chaque etage
sont d'une composition differente. Le coloris pro-
duit en general un effet tres-pittoresque.

bien conditionne, ses proportions sont agreables;

ture qui tombe en ruine. Les details de ce petit
meonumemt prouvent bien que l'on a fait les meil-
leares recherches dans l'architecture antique.
Shows the height and coping of a Chinese tower or
pagoda Edifices of this kind have been much in vogue
for these 5o years among the English and Germans.
This tower is erected upon a hill in the garden,
serving as an observatory. The sportsmen wind their
horns there evening and morning, to assemble to
gether, and, when united,form very agreeable con-
certs.
The architecture is both simple and elegant.
The galleries which are erected on each story, are
differently constructed and ornamented. The general
colouring produces a very picturesque effect.

architecture, built of brick and hewn stone; the base,
of hard stone, forms a case which is set with flowers.
This little monument is in very good condition; its
proportions are agreeable. The hollow trunk of a tree
serves for a seat.

ceive by these descriptions and their richness, that
the deepest researches have bien made into ancient
architecture.

Alten wohl bewandert war.
