nhe Golden-winged Fly-catcher, and
the Spotted Tortoife Butterfly.
'-r HIS bird and fly were both drawn
T  and etched on the copper direatly
from nature, of the fize of life.
The bird hath the bill very itraight,
fbarp-pointed, and black-coloured: from
the angle of the mouth through the
eye paffes a broad black lift, above
and below which there are white lines;
the throat, fron the bill to the breaff,
is black: the breafl, belly, thighs, and
covert-feathers  beneath  the tail,  are
white; the top of the head is of a
bright yellow: the tipper fie'e of the
neck, the back, rumnp, and leffer covert-
feathers of the wings, are of a light
blueiflh flate-colour: the quills, and up-
per fide of the tail, are of a dark aih-
colour: the outer webs of the firIt row
of outer covert-feathers of the Nvings
are yellow, as are the tips of the fea-
thers next above thefe; which together
form  a fpot of fine yellow   on cach
wing: the inner coverts of the wiogs
are white: the quills within are of a
light afh-colour, with whitith edges: the
tail beneath is al'i-coloured, havingwhite
fpots on the inner webs of the outer
feathers on cach fide: the legs and feet
are dulky,

grandeur naturelle.
L'oi/frea  a le bec tre's droit, fort pointu,
et noir: lI paqe des coins de fon ouver-
ture autravers des yeux une barre noire,
aude/Jiis et aude/jo/us de la quelle il y a des
lignes blanches: la gorge eJI noire depuis
le bee jufqu'a    Felfonac, qui   eJf  blanc,
au/fibien que le ventre, les cuy//es, et les
plumes de couverture du d/6702cs de la
queue: le fommet de la Mte eJI d'un jaune
brillant: le dejfus du cou, le dos, le crou-
pian, et les plus petites plumes de couver-
ture des ailes font d'un bleu clair ardofe f
les pennes et le def/ous de la    queué font
a1 un couleur de cendre fonce': les barbes
de la premie're rang&e   des plumes de cou-
ver'ture  du  defiis des ailes font jazoles,
deme'me que le bout des p/umes d'audefs,
cequi firme vne marque d'un bh'au jaune
/far chaque aile: les plumes de couverture
du   dejoas des   ailes  font  blanckes:   le
deJfous des pennes e# d'un couleur tie cendre
clair, avec des bords blanchitres: le de/as
de la   queu&  ejfl coul/ear de cendre, flyant'
des taches blanches fjr les barbes bi',ea;-I'MSr
des plumes exterieures de chaque    9      c; s K
jambes et les pattes font obJrci es.
