The feet are made as in others of this
genus: the legs, feet, and claws, are all
of a deep black colour.
This is one of that curious parcel of
Birds before-mentioned, the property of
the Right Honourable Earl of Ferrers. It
is a native of the warm parts of the con-
tinent of South - America.  It is drawn
and etched from nature. The Toucan 'a
Collier de Cayenne, of Briffon, feems to
me to be the fame with the above-defcribed.

7he Yellow-bellied Green Cuckow.
T HIS figure is reduced a little below
T   the fize of nature, the wing mea-
furing in the figure three inches and a
quarter when clofed, and in the natural
Bird four inches and a half.
The bill is thick and fhort, and corn-
preffed, fo as to diftance the angles of the
mouth, and make it wide in the fwallow:
the edges of the upper mandible are a
little waved: the bill is yellow, furrounded
with Itiff black feathers, which point for-
ward, and cover the noftrils; thefe black
feathers extend round the eyes, and for
an inch fpace down the throat. Marcgrave
fays, they have fair blue eyes with golden
circles. The top of the head, the neck
all round, the back, rump, and leffer
covert-feathers without-fide of the wings,
are of a moft fplendid green, refleding
blue and gold colour; the fore part of the

faits comme dans les autres 0Qfeaux de cete
eJpece: les jambes, les pieds, et les ongles,
font touts d'un noirfonce'.
Cet OQfau etoit un de ce curieux a//r-
timent, dont il a  te' fait mention aupara--
vant, et qui appartient au Comte de Fcrrers.
II eJI ne aux pais chauds au continent de
I'Amerique .leridionale. Il a ete deft/ni' et
grave' avec de /'eau forte d'apres nature.

Le bec eJl epais et court,. et applati, de,
maniere que les angles de la bouche font axz,
eloigne's l'un de l'autre,. et que le trait du,
goJzer eJf large: les bords de la mandibule
Juperieure font uan peu ondds: le bec efll
jaune, et entoure de plumes noires et roides,,
quife portent en avant, et qui couvrent les
narines; ces plumes noires entourent ai?.l
lesyeux, et s'etendent un pouce en bas Jur
la gorge. Marcgrave dit que les yeux de
ces Oeaux font d'un bleu clair, et que I'iris
des yeux efi de couleur d'or.  Le Jomnet de
la tete, le cou tout autour, le dos, le crou-
pion, et les petites couvertures exterieures
des ailesjfont d'un verdfort ecztant, dont,
