( I83 ) Bird in all my fearches: and from the difference of the knobs both in magni- tude, fhape, and colour, and from the one being fo remarkably crefled, and the other having no crefi, I rather incline to think they differ fpecifically from each other. The Cufhiew-Bird is the Pauxi of Nieremberg, p. 233-236. The Curaffo is the Mituporanga of Marcgravius. The latter is figured in many authors; but thofe writers who have defcribed the Cufhew- Bird, have given no figure of it: fo that I believe this to be the firfi print of it that hath appeared. The upper mandible of the bill is dufky or blackifl; the lower is dufky at the point, and yellow toward the head: fome f11ort hairs arife about the angles of the mouth : it hath a lightifh ring round the eye.
