( 45 ) on the breaff, is alfo blue: the infide of the quills, and the under fide of the tail, are of a dark-brown or blackifh colour: the tips of the tail-feathers on the under fide are of a yellowifl-brown; the thighs and coverts beneath the tail green : the legs, feet, and claws, are black: the toes are two forwards and two backwards, as in all other Parrots. This bird is now living, [A. D. 1754] and is the property of Mrs. Kennon, Mid- wife to her Royal Highnefs the Princefs of Wales. I take it to be as rare a Parrot as any I have met with, it being the only one I have feen of its kind. Iave taken two third parts of the na- tural meafure of this bird, in order to reduce it to a Iize proper for the copper- plate; fo that the vifible fuperficial appear- ance of the figure before you, in proportion to my drawing of the fize of nature, is as 4 to 9; but, if the folid quantity of a figure of this reduced fize be compared with that of its natural bignefs, it will be as 8 to 27. The bill is of a yellowifh-wbite, with a very narrow fkin over the upper part, in which the noftrils are placed: the upper mandible is moderately hooked, and its edges on the fides waved: the feathers all La Perruche 'a Ejomach Rozge.
